The smoke and respiratory diseases, COPD.

Smoking is strongly to health conditions such as heart disease and lung cancer. Other than these two dreaded disease, smoking can also cause chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This condition causes inflammation and damage to the small airways in the lung tissue and can cause respiratory problems. COPD is usually a combination of two similar conditions: chronic bronchitis, emphysema and chronic diseases. Since smoking is the main cause of these conditions often occur together in the same person. COPD is a progressive, permanent damage and has become one of the most dynamic health problems. E 'became the fourth leading cause of death in the United States and is responsible for over 96,000 deaths per year. Due to these health conditions for the need to stop smoking has become more important than ever. Understanding COPD is important to encourage smokers to quit the habit feared and potentially fatal .

Chronic bronchitis

Chronic bronchitis is. Inhalation of bronchial irritants such as cigarette smoke, chemical fumes, air pollution and environmental hazards, such as mold or dust Cigarette smoking may decrease the risk of infection because it damages the cilia hairs or small protrusions that protect the lungs against foreign bodies, bacteria and another on the lungs. The disease develops slowly, middle-aged and the elderly are at increased risk for diagnosis of bronchitis. The symptoms of chronic bronchitis may wheeze, cough, sputum, chest pain and persistent fatigue.

Emphysema

Emphysema is a chronic disease of the respiratory tract caused by the expansion of the air bag or bags. Emphysema can reduce the elasticity of the lungs and can lead to the collapse of the bronchi, the first vector not containing more cartilage. As this happens, air can not leave the alveoli therefore prevent lung function. The lungs may lose their ability to contract during exhalation. Exhalation can be reduced and the amount of air inhaled. This condition air is not readily eliminated from the lungs and oxygen-rich air is not restored. People with emphysema often can breathe and gasping for air. Emphysema is most common in people aged 50 years and older and can cause bronchitis occurs with other respiratory diseases.
Causes and Symptoms of COPD may include the following:
Lifestyle. Smoking is the main risk factor for COPD and at least 80% of all cases of COPD in the distance. It can also cause COPD, smoking cigar and pipe. Air pollution and industrial dusts and fumes are known
pollutants that exacerbate disease.

Age. Chronic bronchitis is common in people over 40 years of emphysema occurs more often in people aged 65 years and older.
Socioeconomic class. COPD mortality is about twice as high among low-skilled and low-skilled workers and professionals.
Familial aggregation. It is believed that heredity increases the risk of several families in the development of COPD when other causes, such as smoking and air pollution are present.

Lung infection can be either viruses or bacteria.

COPD treatment depends on the patient and severity of disease. With a program that includes respiratory health, disability and other symptoms may be prevented, thereby reducing the number of premature deaths. However, there were no treatment has been shown to cure this disease. Some treatments only alleviate
symptoms and improve survival.

Rather than focusing on healing, changes in lifestyles prevent the development of COPD should be highlighted. The incidence of COPD can be avoided if people who quit smoking, smoking, maintain a good diet, drinking plenty of fluids to keep the proper weight and exercise. Understanding the health risks associated with COPD is crucial to stop smoking.
